Battle scene with cavalrymen, 17th century painting, oil on canvas

Beautiful and important antique oil painting on canvas dating back to the second half of the 17th century. Wonderful very animated battle scene with some cavalrymen engaged in the fight in the foreground. In the background some fallen fighters while others brandish swords and weapons, and a hint of landscape. Good pictorial quality, good state of conservation, there is a widespread craquelé but completely understandable given the age of the painting, there are no lacks of color. The painting is on the first canvas with some patches on the back. The coeval frame in lacquered wood is of considerable importance. Price negotiable.
