Convent bell from the 1920s

A 1920s pillar-mounted service bell used in a convent refectory to alert the monks that meals were ready. It lacks a clapper, but it makes a pleasant sound when shaken on its metal supports. The knob is brass, while the metal part is finely wrought iron. The base is made of chestnut wood, likely replaced recently. The overall condition is excellent; the object appears stable and suitable for use.
