Medea chair attributed to Vittorio Nobili for Fratelli Tagliabue, 1955

Single “Medea” chair, icon of 1950s Italian design. This fantastic chair is made of bent oak wood with black metal legs. Designed by Vittorio Nobili for the Tagliabue Brothers in 1955, it was first advertised in Domus issue 329 of April 1955, and subsequently became an iconic and highly collectible piece of mid-century design. In perfect restored condition, this piece is attributed to the designer/manufacturer mentioned above on the basis of archival documentation, it does not have any attribution mark. Price negotiable.
