Description


A rare pair of late 18th-century white ceramic apothecary jars with hand-painted mask faces on the sides and the inscriptions "Egyptian Ointment" and "Scabies Ointment." They are 20 cm tall. Originally used in pharmacies for galenic preparations, the jars are in good condition and show normal signs of wear and tear. One jar, in particular, has some cracking, as shown in the photo.
