Antique Bureau Plat Napoleon III French Desk in Exotic Wood

Antique Napoleon III French desk in fine exotic wood with finely chiseled gilt bronze appliqués. The top features an original chiseled leather covering, edged with gilt bronze trim. The front features three drawers embellished with gilt bronze leaf-motif handles and escutcheons. The four corners are adorned with large half-length female figures, typical of the period. The sides, like the front, are edged with bronze leaf-motif profiles with a central mask. The opposite side mirrors the main one. The interior is made of oak.
