Antique solid oak refectory table from the early 19th century
Majestic antique refectory dining table in solid oak, made in Italy and dating back to the early 19th century. This table is crafted from solid oak, its rectangular top supported by trestle legs, while crosspieces in the center ensure the stability of the long tabletop. The table's distinctive feature is its imposing 200 cm length. These tables, very simple in construction and unadorned, were made for use in convents and were called "fratini." Conventual communities used them in the rooms designated for the friars' meals. The table is in excellent condition; a conservative restoration has restored its beauty without erasing any traces of its ancient charm. Price negotiable.
